Claude Merrill Boland

Claude Merrill Boland passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Saturday January 20, 2018 at Jefferson General Hospital in Port Townsend at 86 years old.

Claude was born on March 3, 1931 in Altona, Illinois to Freda and Merrill Boland. He graduated from High School and went on to College at Bradley University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree. He also served in the United States Air Force.

Claude and his family moved to Port Townsend where he built custom homes and restored antiques for 30 years. He enjoyed pottery, hiking in the Olympic Mountains, and gardening with Peggy, his wife of 42 years.

Claude is survived by his wife Peggy Boland, sister Beverly Davis, sister-in-law Ellen Boland, his children Debby Boland Watt, Brad Boland (Pamm), Sammy Swanson, Rick Swanson, and Angie Cossell (Bobby). He has also left behind seven grandchildren, one great grandson, and many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Freda and Merrill Boland, brother Roger Boland, and granddaughter Rachel Jones.

The family extends an invitation to all family and friends to join us Sunday March 4, from 1 to 4 for an Elks Lodge service followed by an afternoon of friendship, The Elks Lodge #317 is located at 555 Otto St. Port Townsend, WA. Please share in this potluck where we can enjoy fond memories and a Celebration of our Beloved Claude’s life. Please join us.
