In years past, Port Townsend’s Classic Mariners Regatta only permitted classic wooden boats to participate in the festivities.
But this year, the June 5 event will be all hands on deck.
Anyone who would like to get out on the water is more than welcome to come on out, said Holly Kays of the Port Townsend Sailing Association.
Kays added that in years past, it has been the Northwest Maritime Center that has orchestrated the race, but in 2021, the center has asked the PTSA to handle it.
Registration for the regatta can be done online via ptsail.org/classic-mariners-regatta-2021-registration/.
The race fee is $10 cash, to be delivered upon arrival on the day of the race.
