2021 is an election year. Is it your turn to run for office? Do you know someone who could do a great job for us?
Filing week is in May. If good candidates don’t come forward, we could end up like Sequim, with a QAnon mayor and a majority that’s out of step with the citizens.
This year, we’ll be electing three Port Townsend city councilors, two port commissioners, and lots of members who look over the hospital, schools, and fire districts. We need citizens who care about good government to step up.
Doing the people’s work is not glamorous, but it’s important. If you’re interested in running, watch a board meeting and talk to someone in the job now. Encourage someone you know to step up. This is the time to explore the idea with your friends.
