Chimacum High School senior guard Jada Trafton scored 18 points and sophomore Mia McNair added 11 to lead the Cowboys past Steilacoom 49-48 on Dec. 29 during the consolation final at the Charles Wright Academy girls basketball holiday tournament in Tacoma. Chimacum (3-4) trailed by two at halftime and entered the fourth in a 33-33 tie. Seniors Grace Yaley and Maddie Dowling each added seven points for the Cowboys.

Chimacum (3-4) trailed by two at halftime and entered the fourth in a 33-33 tie. Seniors Grace Yaley and Maddie Dowling each added seven points for the Cowboys. Tenino 57, Chimacum 41 Tenino senior Kaylee Schow poured in a game-high 29 points and the Beavers outpaced Chimacum 20-7 in the third quarter to pull away with the win Dec. 28 in the first round of the Charles Wright tournament. McNair drained six 3-pointers and finished with 26 points for Chimacum, which trailed 29-23 at halftime. Yaley added seven points, while Clara Noble, Diamond Young, Delana Horner and Dowling each scored for the Cowboys.
