Centrum, one of the Olympic Peninsula’s largest nonprofit arts organizations, is welcoming two new members to its team.

Joining Centrum as its residency and artist projects program assistant, Lisbeth White is a writer and ritualist born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. With a background in creative writing and expressive arts therapy, White is dedicated to creating and supporting communities that uplift artists and cultural creators. She is the author of the poetry collection “American Sycamore,” and co-editor of the anthology “Poetry as Spellcasting: Poems, Essays, and Prompts for Manifesting Liberation and Reclaiming Power.”

Gwen Franz has joined Centrum as its interim program manager of chamber music and jazz.

Franz brings many years of experience as a classical violinist, soloist, chamber musician, orchestral member, recording artist, and concert producer. First discovering Fiddle Tunes at Centrum in 2007, she became a regular attendee at the Choro Workshop for the last decade, also participating in Jazz Port Townsend.

Franz has a doctoral degree from the University of Washington, which she pursued after gaining inspiration from the Centrum events, and used for her thesis on how by-ear learning and improvisation can benefit all musicians.
