Brotherton listens, works for consensus | Letter to the editor

Some elections don’t offer a significant difference. This one will.

The District 3 County Commissioner contest is up for grabs and I’m voting for Greg Brotherton.

Why? After over 30 years in the military and seat of government, I’ve come to appreciate public servants who actually deliver on what they promise.

Greg has racked up a series of impressive achievements by seeking solutions through partnerships. He has built consensus by listening, questioning, then acting. His accomplishments range from his effective advocacy and support for PUD’s rural broadband efforts to working hard to bring a wide spectrum of stakeholders together for a long-term solution to the housing challenges in our region. He has not steered away from compromise as long as it held to principle and offered progress.

It has been a pleasure to serve alongside him on the North Hood Canal Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, where I had a front-row seat to his impressive brand of leadership.

Greg personifies responsible government at a time when blind partisanship has often plunged our democratic processes into a stagnant quagmire. Greg works solutions by reaching across a very diverse aisle. He has my vote.
