Thirty-eight Jefferson County artists are opening up their hearts and studios to visitors this weekend for the 12th annual Art Port Townsend Studio Tour on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 21-22 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There will be something for every artistic taste, created by painters, sculptors, jewelers, photographers, printmakers, mixed-media artists, weavers, calligrapher, illustrators, bookbinders, ceramists and potters, furniture makers, glass etchers and fiber artists. All of the art studios will have the artists available to demonstrate and/or talk about their process and show their work.

Brochures with the art studio listings and maps are available at the Northwind Arts Center, 2409 Jefferson St., as well as the Visitors Center at the Haines Place Park and Ride. The studio list and map are also available at

artporttownsend.org.

Before the weekend tour, check out the third annual Studio Tour Preview Show at the Northwind Arts Center’s Showcase Gallery. The preview show will have representative work by the studio-tour artists as well as their artist statements for perusal through Sunday, Aug. 22.

The studio tour is held in conjunction with the monthlong Art Port Townsend event. The show presents nearly 90 artists from Oregon, Montana, Washington, Idaho and British Columbia.
