Applause for return of Key City Public Theatre | Letter to the editor

Each time I go somewhere I take time to listen and ask questions to people who happen to be standing next to me in line for the vaccine or buying groceries.

It’s such a delightful discovery to learn how people view the world right now and where they came from to arrive here in Port Townsend.

Last evening I had the pleasure to attend the opening of a wonderful new show at Key City Public Theatre to see “Love Always, Patsy Cline” which showcases the music and talent of a legend who died when she was only 30 years old in a plane crash. The actors and musicians shared their talents dancing, singing, and playing in a newly renovated theatre.

I met new people and old friends and listened to their stories making a thread of connections with women who I have not seen or heard for a long time.

How precious our time is here and how many chances we each have for sharing joy.

I applaud all the work that made Key City come back in such an exciting way. How lucky I am to live here and listen to new stories shared by this production.

It’s a musical that will make you dance in your seats and raise your spirits.
