An once of prevention is worth a pound of cure

I want to express my support for the mission of the World Health Organization. I have been blessed to spend time in and have friends in countries like Panama, Ecuador, and Nicaragua where the WHO operates. We can and should support reforms of the WHO such as allowing Taiwan in, and other measure supported by public health professionals.

But denying funding in the middle of a crisis will have real consequences for countless innocent people across the globe particularly as we were already hundreds of millions of dollars in arears. I would much rather see us increasing our commitments to health aid across the world. We should remember we are still in the early stages of this outbreak and an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. We turn our backs on the world’s most vulnerable communities at our peril, ultimately we are all connected. Please contact your representatives with messages of support for the WHO’s mission.
