Interested in an expedition from Kah Tai Lagoon to Froggy Bottoms near Quimper Village? Vaccinated and boostered birders are welcome to join Admiralty Audubon Society from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 22 for a birdwatching outing.
Interested parties should meet in the parking lot of Haines Place Park-and-Ride prior to the event.
The emphasis will be on observing wintering waterfowl. A few scopes will be available. Birdcalls in shru-bbery and trees at the lagoon will be documented before walking up Kearney Street to skirt the bird-rich shrubby areas above the golf course, eventually following the path near Quimper Village before returning via the same route.
The walk should take two or three hours based on interest and findings. The event is limited to eight people, and will be canceled if the weather is foul.
Interested parties should contact Monica Fletcher at monicaflet@gmail.com or by phone, 360-379-3136.
