'A weird male' | Port Townsend Police Log

At 12:36 a.m. Monday, Dec. 13, a woman in the 600 block of Hancock Street asked for officers to patrol the area as she had concerns about people looking in her windows. She called back 20 minutes later to report the same concern.

The woman asked an officer to escort her to a neighbor’s apartment in the same building, where she felt safer, and the officer obliged.

At  12:10 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13, a caller near Sims Way and Hancock Street said a driver in a white vehicle made hand gestures at the second roundabout. The caller said they thought the vehicle was headed somewhere specifically, but wouldn’t say where.

Officers surmised it was likely a road rage incident, and the vehicle was outbound.

At 3:23 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13, a caller reported a man stumbling through a business in the 400 block of Kearney Street. The man was yelling at other patrons and was unmasked, and weaving on his feet.

Offices arrived to find the man uncooperative. The man was arrested for trespassing.

At 12:26 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, a caller in the 300 block of Benedict Street said there was a woman on the property banging on windows and doors, trying to get the caller to let her inside.

The woman had previously been trespassed twice before. She was arrested on criminal trespass in the second degree.

At 7:34 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, a vehicle at the corner of Sims Way and Sheridan Street was stopped for running a stop sign. The driver received a warning.

At 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, someone reported that three packages were stolen off their porch in the 800 block of Adams Street. The caller stated that their neighbor had seen “a weird male” in the area.

Officers contacted the caller and were told that one of the stolen packages had a check inside of it, which the caller had canceled.

At 10:33 a.m. Tuesday, Dec.14, a woman in the vicinity of Water and Polk streets said her car door had been damaged, possibly while she was downtown, although she didn’t give officers a time frame. She was encouraged to fill out a Washington State Patrol self-report form.
