Jefferson County health officials have reported 29 new COVID-19 cases in two days.
The new cases pushed the total number of confirmed coronavirus infections in Jefferson County to 900 Wednesday.
Thirteen cases were reported Wednesday and 16 cases Tuesday.
In the COVID infections confirmed Wednesday, two
of the cases were in Port Townsend, nine were in the mid-county area, and two were in west Jefferson County.
Of the 900 coronavirus cases, health officials reported that 102 were discovered in children under the age of 12.
The age group with the largest number of infections — 151 confirmed cases — are residents between the age of 30 to 39.
A total of 79 residents were still in isolation Wednesday.
There have been 31,191 tests for COVID-19 in Jefferson County since the start of the pandemic, and 30,247 have resulted in negative results.
New test results from 94 residents were received Wednesday.
In Jefferson County, 635 people have recovered from COVID-19 and 57 people have been hospitalized for the disease. (People are considered "recovered" at 28 days from the onset of symptoms if they are alive and not hospitalized, according to the state Department of Health.)
A total of 13 deaths of Jefferson County residents have been linked to COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.
