Jefferson County health officials reported Tuesday that 27 new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed since Friday.

Two new residents were also reported to have been hospitalized due to COVID-19.

The total number of confirmed coronavirus infections in Jefferson County hit 941 on Sept. 21 — up from 914 on Sept. 17.

Positive COVID test results were reported across the county since Friday; seven in Port Townsend, nine in the mid-county area, and 11 in south county.

Fourteen of the new infections involved females; the other 13 involved males.

A total of 58 residents were still in active isolation Tuesday.

A total of 111 test results are still pending, according to Jefferson County Public Health.

There have been 31,704 tests for COVID-19 in Jefferson County since the start of the pandemic, and 30,652 have resulted in negative results.

In Jefferson County, 675 people have recovered from COVID-19. (People are considered "recovered" at 28 days from the onset of symptoms if they are alive and not hospitalized, according to the state Department of Health.)

A total of 13 deaths of Jefferson County residents have been linked to COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.
