Jefferson County Public Health reported 19 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 Tuesday, Jan. 11.
Most of the new cases — 12 — involved Port Townsend residents. Five of the new cases came from the mid-county area, while one new case was found in south county, and one was reported in west Jefferson.
One new infection was found in a child under the age of 12.
Six cases were in the 12-through-19 age bracket; one case in the 20-to-29 age bracket; four cases in 30-to-39; four cases in 40-to-49; two cases in 70-to-79; and one new case of someone 80-or-older.
Six people from Jefferson County remained hospitalized due to the disease on Tuesday; an increase of one hospitalization from the day before.
A total of 91 residents have been hospitalized due to COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, according to Jefferson County Public Health.
Health officials said there were 250 active cases in isolation Tuesday.
Based on sex, 955 males have tested positive for COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic in Jefferson County, and 889 females have tested positive.
Most of those who have tested positive for COVID-19 have not been fully vaccinated. Health officials said 62.19 percent of the coronavirus cases since Feb. 1, 2021 have been found in residents who were not fully vaccinated for the coronavirus.
