Who were the militia in the Revolutionary War?

Militia were men in arms formed to protect their towns from foreign invasion and ra***es of war. Minutemen were a small hand-picked elite force which were required to be highly mobile and able to assemble quickly. Minutemen were selected from militia muster rolls by their commanding officers.

What does this have to do with every American having the right to own as many guns as they want?

I assume you will send your family to a school to learn about guns and when they should be used and when not. Not every gun owner, or 2nd amendment enthusiast does that.

Stricter gun laws make sense, background checks, ban on assault rifles, no one under age 21 (like tobacco and alcohol). Get rid of handguns, period!
