Youth Education in Arts (YEA) Music Camp round two is scheduled from Monday, Aug. 7 through Friday, Aug. 11 at Swan School in Port Townsend.
Students in grades entering 5 through 12 will work with local instructors for the week creating music. The camp is based on a “pay what you can” model. Parents and caregivers can sign up their child at YEAMusic.org or by calling 360-301-9816.
There will be fiddle groups, chamber ensembles, band groups and jazz groups for students, and a beginner track for younger students where they can sample different instruments during the course of the week.
The YEA Music program is a 501c3 Not For Profit Organization with the mission “To provide the youth of East Jefferson County with musical opportunities including instruments, instruction and performances.”
Programs are made possible by individual donors as well as local civic organizations such as the Elks Club, Kiwanis Club, and Sunrise Rotary Club among others.
