or YEDay.org. Parent or guardian must sign for, and be present during the flight.

For the first time, on August 20th from 10AM - 2PM, Sequim’s Experimental Aircraft Association will offer free Airplane rides from the EAA #430 member's private General Aviation aircraft.

The approximately 20-minute flights over Port Townsend are available to any young person 8 years old through 17 years. In the past this program called Young Eagles, has taken place at the Sequim Valley and Port Angeles airports. This is the inaugural day for Port Townsend’s Jefferson County airport.

To participate, the child should be pre-registered at YEDay.org or YoungEaglesDay.org. Walk-ons on August 20th may receive rides on a first come first served basis. A parent or guardian must be in attendance to sign for the young flier and to wait while the flight takes place. These the flights will take place in single engine, 2 or 4 place airplanes, both “certified” and “Experimental”.

Mike Payne of Port Townsends Aero Museum has invited the Young Eagles crew to use the museum property as the staging grounds for the event and parking. Ray Ballantyne, president of EAA #430, is excited to make this first ever event in Port Townsend a fun day for all.
