My response to The Leader, Sept. 4 front page article: “Washington teacher pay near national high” is hurrah! I’m proud that our state and county pay our teachers top salary for their work. They are devoted to educating our children, our greatest treasures. Unlike many US states, most developed nations recognize school teaching as the invaluable profession it is. Let us be thankful for those who choose to devote their careers to the education of our children.
