There was more smoke than wind in their sails, but seven vessels still managed to finish the Northwest Schooner Cup on Saturday as part of the Wooden Boat Festival.
The first four schooners to cross the line at the Northwest Maritime Center beach all claim Port Townsend home: Sir Isaac, a 49-foot schooner; Martha, an 84-foot schooner; Alcyone, an 80-foot schooner, and Betsy D, a 35-foot ketch.
