Thank you Marge Samuelson for your May 22 letter to the editor!
“We want someone who knows sports to write about our children and grandchildren, with photos.” Did anyone read the sports page this week? The headline reads “Sports.” There was one article about the Quilcene softball team headed to State and a small article on the Chimacum girls tennis. Congratulations girls!
I guess whoever covers sports is not aware that we have kids in Port Townsend and Chimacum who participate in sports. Last Friday and Saturday there was a meet in Bremerton for Districts. We had kids from both schools qualify for State.
The front of The Leader at the bottom of the page you can find out what section you want to read (like sports). This week it said pages nine and 22. Nine had the short article on the Quilcene girls going to State, and information on Chimacum.
Now go to page 22. What a surprise, it is all ads, nothing that has to do with sports!
So, if you want to read about how the kids from Port Townsend and Chimacum are doing in sports, buy the Peninsula Daily News. They have reported on every event this year.
