We must condemn all racist tropes | Letter to the editor

Posted

It is way past time for Christians to condemn anti-Semitism, as did Dietrich Bonhoeffer in Hitler’s Germany in the 1930s and early 1940s. He paid with his life. We are more fortunate (now), but we must act.

Previously anti-Semitism was a matter of hushed tones among family members. You did not broadcast your dirty, little secret. It was kept close to the chest. Now it is openly discussed; even lauded, in some circles.

It is time to rid the country of this vice, and Christians must be in the forefront of condemning all racist tropes, including anti-Semitism.
