Water Street near the Port Townsend Ferry Terminal was closed to traffic early Monday after part of the hillside collapsed close to the Bayview Restaurant.
Traffic is being detoured onto Washington Street.
The road was closed before 6 a.m. and remained closed Monday morning.
A frontloader was at the site of the landslide and was clearing the road just after 9 a.m. Jan. 2.
