We need to maintain a professional law enforcement presence in Jefferson County and avoid any potential missteps by, first off, making the sheriff’s department a place law enforcement personal look forward to going to work for.
Joe Nole would do this and strengthen professionalism in the department with training in things like de-escalation, working with minors, and the mentally ill.
Joe would partner with other agencies when necessary but feels strongly about safeguarding the privacy of all residents no matter what their origins.
Joe Nole grew up in Tacoma and has lived in our county for 35 years, having worked as a backcountry ranger, a high school biology teacher and now 28 years with the Jefferson County sheriff department in various capacities including patrol deputy, detective, chief criminal deputy, undersheriff, and appointed sheriff. This means an easy transition.
