As election season nears, it’s an important time to reflect on some salient issues swirling in our current political climate.
In our country it has become increasingly clear that the Republican party is a party of lies, manipulation and corruption. From the president on down, those in control of the GOP seem to believe that rampant obfuscation and denial of facts and truth are acceptable operating procedure. One has to look no further than the senate impeachment trial to see this blatant corruption in action.
It’s time to vote some of these people, most notably the president, out of office. Our president and his minions have damaged the Constitution, our democracy and the standing of the U.S. in the eyes of the world.
We need a return to some sort of normalcy, meaning rule of law, respecting facts, honoring the Constitution and having clear separation of powers (coequal branches of government) as the prevailing sentiment in our politics.
The Republicans have lost all credibility, authority and integrity in these matters. The future, if we are to continue to have a viable democracy in America, depends on removing them from power.
