I was surprised the see in the lead story of B section of the Nov. 7 issue of the Leader, “Badass Cheeses.” The use of “badass” is less than professional, and I found it offensive to see it used in our paper.
President Trump has set new low standards of behavior and speech in addressing the nation. Our local newspaper is an ambassador for Port Townsend. It serves The Leader and the image of our community to keep our talk clean.
In opposing the crude talk in D.C politics, we are seeing “Make America Kind Again” and “Make America Civil Again.” Let’s retain those values in our town and leave “badass” in New York and the other Washington.
