Uptown parade should take a second lap | Letter to the editor

Posted

When I was moving here in 1980, I asked the Chamber of Commerce to send me info about the town.

One article said, even though Port Townsend was a small town, there was something fun to do every day. That was true and now as it’s grown, there’s many fun things to do every day.

The main one today was the Uptown Street Fair. The parade was a sensation with so many businesses and groups being represented. I thought they and their wonderful costumes were outstanding. But, it was over too soon! Wouldn’t it be fun if the short parade went around the block twice so we could doubly enjoy it. I attended a short July 4th in Skagway one summer and they did two rounds and everyone loved it.

Please consider for next year.
