Officials have announced that the Hood Canal Bridge has reopened to all traffic. The bridge could close to traffic due to forecasted winds this afternoon, officials said, and they recommended delaying or rescheduling travel if possible.
The Hood Canal Bridge was closed in both directions as of 10:19 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9 for about an hour due to severe winds, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
The waves going onto the bridge deck were reaching nearly 30 feet in the air, officials said.
The Highway 104 span across Hood Canal connects the Olympic Peninsula with the Kitsap Peninsula.
