A 59-year-old Port Townsend woman has been jailed for allegedly attacking her husband with a hatchet.
Anna Young was jailed on first-degree assault just after 5 p.m. Tuesday.
In addition to the allegation of a domestic violence felony assault, she was also booked for interfering with a report of domestic violence.
Bail was initially set at $100,000 for the felony assault charge.
Police were called to the 1900 block of 14th Street in Port Townsend at 5 a.m. Nov. 2 and a resident reported a neighbor who was at the door with a hammer in his hand.
The man, later identified as the victim in the assault case, then left.
Police quickly discovered the vehicle used by the man’s partner was missing, and it sparked a search for the Port Townsend woman.
The man had head and other body injuries and was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after he was initially taken to Jefferson Healthcare in Port Townsend.
According to a social media post by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the man was in stable condition at Harborview Tuesday night.
According to the sheriff’s office, the man told investigators he woke up Tuesday morning while he was being attacked.
