Two people were hurt in two separate rollover crashes Saturday, May 14 just north of Crocker Lake.

The first rollover happened just before 3:30 p.m. May 14 when a 36-year-old Oak Harbor man was driving north on U.S. Highway 101 just past the lake and swerved to miss a deer.

The man’s 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt crossed the centerline and went into the ditch, according to the Washington State Patrol, and rolled over three times before coming to a stop.

The driver was injured but said he would arrange his own transportation to the hospital.

The man’s passenger, a 54-year-old Coupeville woman, was also hurt in the crash, but the State Patrol said no one was seriously injured.

The rollover left the southbound lane of US 101 blocked. The vehicle was eventually towed from the scene by Northwest Towing and Recovery.

The State Patrol said the driver was cited for second-degree negligent driving.

Police responded to a second rollover crash just north of the first just before 11 p.m. Saturday.

A 46-year-old Duvall man was injured after he rolled over his 2003 Ford Econoline Van as he drove off westbound Highway 104 onto the exit southbound US 101 north of Crocket Lake.

The man was taken to St. Michael Medical Center in Silverdale for treatment.

A passenger in the van, a 47-year-old Duvall woman, was not hurt in the rollover.

The State Patrol said the crash was caused by speeding, and charges against the driver were pending.

The van was towed from the scene by All City Towing.
