At 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, Quilcene Fire Rescue responded to a vehicle fire in the area of State Route 104 and Sandy Shore Road.
Firefighters arrived to find a box van consumed with flames.
The driver and all passengers had already exited the vehicle unharmed.
Route 104 was temporarily closed in both directions near Milepost 6 beginning at 5:02 p.m.
Quilcene firefighters quickly extinguished the fire with help from Port Ludlow Fire Rescue and East Jefferson Fire Rescue.
Washington State Patrol and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the incident.
No civilians or firefighters were injured. The incident is under investigation.
