A Port Angeles man was arrested early Saturday, Sept. 12 after a traffic stop revealed he allegedly possessed at least six oxycodone pills and one stolen firearm, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

Jeremy Steven Olsen, 27, was reportedly stopped while driving on Highway 101 when a police inquiry found his license was suspended.

He was pulled over near Milepost 282, and when asked confirmed his identity and admitted his license was suspended.

As he was getting out of the car, police saw several loose pills in plain sight. Olsen claimed the pills were a dietary supplement his girlfriend took.

He was taken into custody and read his rights.

Upon closer inspection, police researched the imprint on the pills and found them to be oxycodone.

Olsen was booked into the Jefferson County Jail for driving with a suspended license and possession of a controlled substance. His vehicle was impounded.

Later that day, police obtained a search warrant for his vehicle and ultimately found three more tablets of oxycodone, three pills of a similar medication of a different brand, and a digital scale with a tar-like substance on it.

They also found a firearm and ammunition, which was later found to have been stolen in Port Angeles, and $3,870 in cash, a spoon, two kinds of the emergency narcotic overdose treatment Narcan, syringes, cotton balls, straws, and distilled water, police said.

Olsen faces charges for possession of a stolen firearm, a Class B felony, and two charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, also a Class B felony.

His bail was set at $2,000.
