Travelers on Highway 104 west of the Hood Canal Bridge were being delayed by a wayward yacht Tuesday afternoon.
But it wasn’t a typical one triggering a raised drawbridge on the span across Hood Canal.
Instead, the Washington State Patrol closed the highway down to one lane after a large yacht fell off a boat trailer and landed in the eastbound lane.
Traffic going west was backed up for nearly two miles — almost all the way to the traffic advisory billboard near Milepost 12 — following the crash.
The mishap was reported shortly after 1 p.m. Sept. 15, and traffic stayed at a snail’s pace late into the afternoon.
