Tim Shaw passed peacefully on Dec. 23, 2022, at his residence in Port Hadlock, Washington. Tim was 68 years old.
Tim was born in London, England, the third of five children, to John P. Shaw (diplomat) and Helen M. Shaw (violinist). (Both predeceased).
Growing up, he accompanied his parents to foreign posts (Bucharest, Romania 1962-1964; and Bonn, West Germany 1967-1968), where his father was posted as a career Foreign Service officer and specialist in Soviet affairs.
When not overseas, Tim lived in Bethesda, Maryland and graduated from Walt Whitman High School in 1972.
Tim studied at Colorado State University, the University of Wisconsin, and the University of Washington, where he earned two Master's degrees in Far Eastern Religions. He completed a one-of-a-kind manuscript, translating Sanskrit scrolls into English.
Tim was a kind and gentle soul; a professional scholar, and a chef.
He leaves behind four siblings, Mark (Jane), Columbia, Maryland; Paul (Denise), Norwell, Massachusetts; John, Annapolis, Maryland; and Marian (Douglas Dobbin), Queenstown, Maryland.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Spring 2023, in the Washington, DC area.
