Timothy Jay Rondeau lost his battle with cancer on July 24, 2018. He fought tirelessly against the disease for 14 months.

Time was born in Port Townsend’s St. John’s Hospital on July 30, 1959 to Elizabeth and Virgil Rondeau. Arriving home from the hospital, he joined Mom, Dad, and his three brothers and two sisters: Billie, Pat, Jim, Jeff, and Butch at their home in Discovery Bay.

Tim’s schooling was through Port Townsend Schools, graduating in 1977. In high school Tim especially enjoyed appearing in plays. Parts in “Finian’s Rainbow” and “Fiddler on the Roof” were his favorites.

Working in the woods was one of Tim’s jobs. Through this job and his family, he developed a deep appreciation for nature and its beauty. He was a hustling chaser, would fell trees if asked, and set chokers. He didn’t care about the hard work as much as he cared about working outside doing an honest day’s work for an honest day’s pay. When logging hit a dry stretch, you would find him cutting firewood, pulling a wrench, or looking for anything that would put him again working outdoors.

An avid hunter and fisherman, he would spend his down time hunting for the elusive deer or elk during hunting season, or mooching for that big king or silver salmon during fishing season. He loved fishing for trout in the local lakes and rivers.

Tim leaves a legacy of helping anyone in need, including giving them the shirt off his back. He was that way.

Timothy leaves behind the mother of his children, Debbie Rondeau, his namesake son, Timothy Jr., and his loving daughter Jaime, six half and full brothers and a sister. He also leaves behind four grandchildren: Alysa, Xander, Zane, and Kaitlyn. He was preceded in death by his parents, his second wife Denise, and sisters Rose Wilhelm and Billie Martin.

A celebration of life for Tim will take place at the Fred Lewis Scout Cabin from 1-4 p.m. on August 25.
