Time to use the Food Bank?

Posted

I would like to plant the seed that maybe those folks who have been affected by the virus should use the services of the food bank.

Between feeding kids at home who would normally be in school, or those whose jobs have been affected, using the food bank can save much-needed funds to go to other important areas. The food bank buys food every week for .03 cents per pound. from Food Lifeline. Nobody else has this sort of buying power.

We have implemented many protocols to keep our clients and volunteers as safe as possible. We will be doing a distribution style of having boxes put together ahead of time by volunteers to hand out to clients at their car, buses etc. Only volunteers will come into the food bank. We will try to meet personal food needs and styles as much as possible.

Right now we have the food to share. Please don’t think by using the food bank you’ll be depriving someone else.
