I see no reason why the salary information for individuals in the Jefferson County school districts should have been printed in The Leader on Sept. 4. I read the entire article and I couldn’t see what the point of it was. You’ve effectively “doxed” the individuals you highlighted on the front page by publishing their names, positions and salary information. Public servants have a hard enough time as it is without having the local newspaper target them simply for earning a salary. Congratulations to the staff person who figured out how to access the public officials salary database, but it isn’t news. I see this as a continuation of the incredible amount of ink spent on the nothing-burger that is John Mauro’s resume. Again, not news. The PT Leader continues its pursuit of journalistic mediocrity, at best, and irresponsible muckraking at worst.
