Northwind Art’s galleries have plenty new in store for the month of April.

The Best Gallery kicks off the spring exhibit season with “Image & Abstraction.”

This exhibit will feature the works of renowned painter Jane Friedman, and award-winning wood sculptor Alan Newberg.

Friedman’s encaustic and oil paintings express depth, texture, and warmth. The pieces are inspired by the interplay of human nature and the natural environment.

Newberg’s wood sculptures are abstract, evoking the sensuality of nature and capturing the essence of the feminine.

Together in one gallery space, their art forms complement each other. The organic movement, subtle color palettes, and strong compositional balance set these artists’ works apart while also uniting them together.

Northwind Art’s Grover Gallery will present “Undersea,” which will be on display through May.

An exhibit that features Tangled Fibers artists Pat Herkal, Barbara Ramsey, Jean-Marie Tarascio, and Cathie Wier with additional works by Tininha Silva, “Undersea” reflects the artists’ varied views of the Salish Sea interpreted through the textile arts.

The collection is composed of cloth and fiber, wire and yarn, paper and beads.

The exhibits open April 1, and gallery hours are noon to 5 p.m., Thursdays through Sundays.
