The Port Townsend School District’s OPEPO students are joining forces with the visiting Missoula Children’s Theatre to present “King Arthur’s Quest,” Feb. 9-10.
Performances are 7 p.m. on Friday and 4 p.m. on Saturday at the Port Townsend High School auditorium, 1500 Van Ness.
Students begin their theatrical journey by auditioning for roles on Monday, Feb. 5, followed by learning and rehearsing the play Feb. 5-9.
OPEPO, a first- through fifth-grade alternative multi-age program within the Port Townsend School District has been working with Missoula Children’s Theatre for more than 10 years. The traveling children’s theater brings the arts to all 50 states, five Canadian provinces and 16 countries.
The children’s theater is also offering free acting workshops for Grant Street Elementary students. There is an acting workshop on Tuesday, Feb. 6 and the improvisation workshop on Thursday, Feb. 8. Both workshops are 2:25-3:30 p.m., after school, in the Grant Street gym.
