I urge all Port Townsend voters to join me in supporting Deborah Stinson for reelection to another term on the City Council.
Deb has been an exceptional leader for our city. She played a central role in what was an exceptional process for selecting a new City Manager, and – in conjunction with colleagues on the city council (both veterans and newly elected) – has played a major part in helping the city grow and prosper. Steady, compassionate, thoughtful, creative – supply your own adjective – she’s provided wisdom, strength, and consistency in the formulation of public policy throughout her service.
As one who has served on the city council, as well as city both the city’s planning commission and its historic preservation committee, I’ve witnessed the performance of dozens of others who have volunteered to help guide the city. Deb Stinson stands among the very few at the top for dedication, intelligence, and excellent judgment. We should all be glad that she wants to continue her service to the community, and I hope she gets the vote of confidence she has earned and so richly deserves.
