The U.S. Census will soon ask all of us to participate in its 10-year count of who lives in this large, diverse nation. I urge all who read this to join in, to stand up and be counted.
Having an accurate count is important for the country, our state and especially smaller counties and cities where any number of assistance programs from state and federal sources are often determined by census data. Even more important, representation in Congress, state and local governmental bodies is determined by these data.
Census information is strictly guarded to ensure privacy. Please participate, and encourage all you know to do so as well. This will help us achieve a better future.
