Spirit Guide In Passing

Posted

I wanted an illustration that says a few things about the recent passing of my sister, Melissa. She lost her struggle with an aggressive cancer with a full moon in the sky and three Cooper's Hawks in a tree outside her bedroom. It's also proper to say she her family was nearby.

It should be added that the hawks appearance, quite rare, and a week or so before, gave some small bit of comfort to her husband, Jerome, and her children, Emma and Fergus.  Melissa's last completed painting was of three hawks. She had, Jerome said, selected them as her spirit guide.

With prayer chains and modern medicine unable... well, I'm also unable to address the tragedy... but I am willing to accept spirit guides and angels and God's plan and bad luck and that we just don't really know.

Because Melissa has also left not nearly enough nearly perfect paintings and drawings and sculptures, I wanted the illustration to be perfect, knowing it wouldn't be. Nevertheless, I do have more to say. Not much more, but I did write about it on my site, realsurfers.net

And, I would like to thank those who didn't know my sister, but offered condolences.
