There’s so much good news in town right now and it’s brought to us by volunteers and the city.
A group of women are giving their time at the library to bring the grounds up to “Secret Garden” quality. And those women are Polly Lyle, Pat Grainger, her sister and more. Thank you for this effort.
Then there are three things the city has done which make my life richer. One is the new sidewalk on 9th Street. Now I can take my three-wheeled walker and make a trip to JHC for dinner or QFC to shop. Also, the seniors in motorized wheelchairs won’t have to go down the middle of the street anymore.
Another is the park area in front of the Visitors’ Center where I volunteer twice a week. This will be beautiful to look out on, especially Russell Jaqua’s sculpture, Willene. And there will be public restrooms so the single we have in the VIC can be just for we volunteers.
The last is the new plaza by the water where the city has placed green tables and chairs. That space has been busy all year round with locals as well as visitors. It’s a fun place to sit. The city council, Mayor Deborah Stinson and city employees are to be commended. Thank you.
