‘Some days it’s tough’

It’s that time of year again. For many of very-modest incomes it’s trying to stay warm in a poorly insulated habitat, while worrying about stretching the food budget. For many children, it’s another year that Santa Claus won’t be able to find their house. Even for non-humans such as my friend above from earlier years, it’s an extended period of difficult foraging.

What I’m saying is that while we should be thankful for family and all else we have at this Christmas season, we shouldn’t be oblivious and needn’t be greedy about it. It doesn’t take much to mean a lot to someone who has nothing.

And good luck, all, in 2017. I fear the Brave New World on our political scene will be more oppressively dystopian than utopian.
