SmileMobile makes visit to Chimacum

Posted

The Arcora Foundation’s SmileMobile — a brightly painted 39-foot-long dental clinic on wheels — will return to Chimacum next week.

SmileMobile dentist Paul Phillips and dental team will provide examinations to babies (first tooth) up through high school age and pregnant/postpartum people with Apple Health and those who are uninsured.

The visit is planned for Tuesday, July 7 through Friday, July 10, and the SmileMobile will be parked at the Tri-Area Community Center at 10 West Valley Road.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the SmileMobile dental clinic team will provide a prescreen over the phone for visitors, and schedule appointments the day of the exam. Children’s temperatures will also be taken as a safety precaution.

The dentist and team will be providing examinations, fluoride varnishing, sealants, X-rays, simple extractions, temporary fillings, and also giving written referrals.

People who would like to make an appointment, or have questions, can call the clinic prior to the SmileMobile’s arrival at 1-888-286-9105.

The SmileMobile travels the state year-round and provides services ranging from exams and preventive care to fillings and minor oral surgery, and has examined and treated more than 45,000 patients in communities throughout Washington. It is operated by the Arcora Foundation, a nonprofit organization that works in partnership with Seattle Children’s Hospital, and is funded by the nonprofit Delta Dental of Washington, the state’s largest dental benefits company.
