Sleeping in on Easter Sunday

I did it again. Wiped out a whole piece on God and Faith and Organized Religion(s). Some mis-placed thumb, or cursor, or heel of the hand, And now I don't have the time to replicate or replace it. It's Sunday, Easter Sunday, the day Christians celebrate the reason there are Christians.

And... I will say, skipping the Church activities, Trish did watch the Easter services live from Rome. That counts. I almost opened my eyes, heard a bit, bell back asleep. So, probably no credit. And I have to do some painting. Not because I'm irreligious, but because it's not raining.

This drawing was done for my site, realsurfers.net. Actually, and more truthfully, it was done because, though, as accused, I may not be 'deeply religious,' I do have a certain spiritual-ness (not going to say spirituality- that might mean I think about it more deeply than I'm capable of doing); and a certain connection to Jesus Christ.

I'm not bragging. Or apologizing. Even people who claim to be atheists have to have respect for someone who starts just about every thing he says with, "You hypocrites..." who gave dignity to the poor, who offered something other than hatred as a response to hatred...

...Yeah, yeah. So, I do have an (so far) unshakeable belief that there is a Higher Power, one that really can't be understood; and, therefore, not contained or defined; is that there is no group rate to heaven. That may seem a knock on what is a problem with organized religion. Faith/spirituality is an individual thing.

Faith is tested daily. We fail (ourselves and others) often. And often, maybe from some surprising brief glimpse of beauty, some unexpected and unguarded laugh, some... I'm going through a mental check list of past perfect moments... life will give us a little extra anecdotal evidence to put on the scale. Belief. Faith. Grace. Redemption. Happy today. tomorrow, too.
