Kitsap Bank is joining with the Port Townsend Food Bank in hosting a paper-shredding event from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 19 at Kitsap Bank’s Port Townsend branch at 2313 East Sims Way.
The public is encouraged to bring outdated or sensitive documents for safe destruction and disposal, and to support the food bank at the same time with a monetary donation.
All funds raised at this event will go to supporting the Port Townsend Food Bank.
“We are pleased to partner with the Port Townsend Food Bank to give back to the community,” said Charles Robertson, senior vice president of retail banking for Kitsap Bank.
“Through the shred event we hope to raise awareness of the needs here at home and be able to support the food bank during these challenging times,” Robertson added.
Participants are asked to limit documents to a maximum of 75 pounds per vehicle; and to make a cash or check donation in the amount they choose to the local food bank.
