Show compassion for your planet, fellow humans | Letter to the editor

Unlike most species, it seems humankind is blessed with the ability to think, contemplate, decide, and initiate thoughtful and reasonable action. As well, as most living creatures, we possess the instinct for survival.

Unfortunately for many, our own beliefs, thought processes and actions often supersede, contradict, and/or belie our best interests, creating consequential threat to existence.

This appears to be borne out in the most crucial matters we face. Climate change deniers and the unvaccinated are the most pressing issues, ahead of even the “big lie” of election fraud and the inability of our governing bodies to reach any meaningful solutions.

Those of us who deeply care about life on our planet, implore all to please wisely consider getting vaccinated and to take reasonable steps to protect our planet. At least use your humanity to contemplate these actions. This would be for the good of all, for which you could take pride. Use the gift of thought wisely, and show compassion for your fellow humans and the earth we inhabit.
