Sheriff’s office recovers van stolen in Kent, suspect at large

A van that was stolen in Kent was recovered by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday, Sept. 23 after a hunter found the vehicle parked near Camp Discovery Road.

According to an online post, deputies responded to the area after a hunter came across a suspicious van parked on a slight embankment.

“The hunter approached the van and scared the male inside, who fled the van on a bicycle, spilling his [White Claw Hard Seltzers] in flight,” the post read. “While en route, deputies learned the vehicle was stolen out of the Kent area during a burglary.”

Officers, troopers, and deputies searched the area with help from a Sequim K9 unit in an attempt to locate the suspect to no avail.
