The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) responded to 294 calls for service between May 8 and May 15. Among them were 8 animal complaints, 2 death investigations, 6 cases of driving under the influence, 36 requests for follow-up assistance, 4 property damage reports, 12 suspicious circumstances, 1 sex offense, 9 traffic collisions and 53 traffic stops.

A deputy responded to the Hoh Tribal Office at 1 p.m., May 8 after receiving a report of vandalism in which the windshields of a fire truck and dump truck had been shattered. There are no suspects.

Drones were reportedly harassing a resident living on Jacob Miller Road on May 10. A deputy responded, and the reporting person said they had observed multiple drones in the area, with at least one flying up to the windows of the home.

A deputy responded at 9:06 a.m., May 10 to an individual reporting that their electrical power had been cut off and the road blocked by their landlord in the area of Second Street near South Discovery Road. The deputy assisted the individual in getting power restored and provided information on seeking a court order for harassment.

A man on a bicycle was reported down and possibly not breathing at 10:56 a.m., May 11. It was believed the bicyclist had struck a pole. The responding deputy contacted the bicyclist, who informed him he was fine and just taking a rest.

The sheriff’s office received a report at 10:52 a.m., May 14 that a landlord had rammed a tenant’s residence with a tractor and knocked down a trellis in the area of Second Street near South Discovery Road. The reporting person also said the landlord had damaged a fire pit and that the tenant had no water. The responding deputy determined that the landlord did not ram the residence with the tractor, but had knocked down the trellis, and that this is an ongoing landlord/tenant civil issue.
