Oct. 2: A customer at a Port Ludlow restaurant was reported to be intoxicated and “out of control” in the establishment. The belligerent subject had fallen multiple times, and required treatment for injuries at the Jefferson Healthcare hospital, before being booked into the county jail.
Oct. 3: A Brinnon resident was a victim of an employment scam, in which the “fake” employer requested money from the interviewee. $3,000 was taken from their bank account through a series of transactions. Be very aware of fraud and scammers. We are seeing a lot of this activity, so protect your identities and financial information.
Oct. 4: A car was reported “stolen or towed” near the Community Center in Port Townsend. A sheriff’s deputy assisted in searching. The vehicle was found where the reporting party parked it.
Oct. 6: An unruly court attendee had to be handcuffed and removed from the courtroom at the Jefferson County Courthouse in Port Townsend. The subject was later released, and completed their hearing without further incident.
Oct. 8: An unruly customer was asked to leave the Port Hadlock Laundromat for slamming on equipment and yelling. The subject had prior issues at the facility, and was therefore issued a trespass admonishment, per the business’ request.
• Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted the Washington State Patrol on Beaver Valley in Chimacum. Two cows were in the roadway, blocking traffic. The animal owners were contacted, and retrieved the cows from the roadway.
Oct. 13: A burglary was reported in Forks. The victim was out of town for a month, and returned to find a shed had been pried open, with items stolen. An estimated $10,000 to $15,000 in property was taken.
There were no incidents reported involving deer this week. Maybe they’re starting to behave?
